The client
The client raises poultry across several stages: a hatchery, rearing houses, laying flocks for eggs and broiler flocks for meat, each with its own records, standards and daily checks.
Before the dashboard, this was tracked on paper and in spreadsheets, which made it hard to see the whole operation, spot problems early or keep the numbers in one place.
The problem
A poultry operation generates a constant stream of numbers: bird counts, ages, hatch rates, egg production, feed used, weights, mortality and movements between houses. On paper, that data is slow to record, easy to lose and almost impossible to analyse.
The producer needed one place to record every stage, keep inventory and suppliers in step with production, and see how each flock was performing against the standard, with the whole team working from the same figures.
What they needed
- One dashboard for the whole cycle: hatchery, rearing, laying, broiler, quarantine
- Flock records and transfers between houses and stages
- Inventory, assets, procurement and suppliers tied to production
- Charts that show performance against growth and production standards
- Fast data capture, including reading figures from paper records
- Exports and reports the team can share (Excel, PDF)
- Tasks, incidents, HR and a log of what happened
- Secure login for the team
What we built
The dashboard is a custom Next.js web application. Each stage of the operation has its own section: hatchery, rearing, laying, broiler and egg production, with quarantine for sick or new birds, and flock transfers that move a batch from one house or stage to the next while keeping its history.
Around production sit inventory, assets, procurement and suppliers, so feed and materials stay in step with the birds. Charts built on the data show how each flock performs against the expected standards, and incidents, tasks, HR and logs record everything the team does.
To make data entry fast, the dashboard reads figures straight from photographed paper records with OCR, so the team enters a day’s numbers in seconds instead of retyping them. Records export to Excel and to PDF reports, email notifications keep the team informed, and everything runs on a Firebase backend that Artover hosts and maintains.

Challenges we solved
The whole operation in one place
Hatchery, rearing, laying, broiler, inventory, suppliers, HR and tasks each became a section of one dashboard, so the producer sees the entire operation instead of a drawer full of paper.
Data entry that does not slow the farm down
Farm staff record numbers all day. OCR reads figures straight from photographed paper records, so a day’s data takes seconds and the team keeps working.
Every flock against the standard
Production and growth are charted against the expected standards, so an underperforming flock or a rising mortality shows up early, while the numbers are still useful.
The result
The producer runs the whole operation from one dashboard: every stage recorded, inventory and suppliers in step with production, performance visible against the standard, and reports the team can export, in place of paper and scattered spreadsheets.
