WordPress development and maintenance in Mauritius
We are WordPress developers in Mauritius: custom themes your team can edit without breaking the design, WooCommerce stores that take MCB card, MCB Juice and MyT Money, and maintenance that keeps the site updated, backed up and watched around the clock.

What we build on WordPress
Every site is designed for your business and built by our team in Cybercity Ebene, in English, French or both.
- Corporate and company websites
- A custom theme with purpose-made Elementor widgets, one for each type of section, so your team edits text, figures and documents in the familiar WordPress editor while layout and typography stay as designed. Document libraries, careers pages and enquiry forms that reach your inbox or CRM.
- WooCommerce stores
- Online stores on WordPress with the payment methods used in Mauritius: MCB card payments, MCB Juice, MyT Money, internet banking and bank transfer, plus Stripe and PayPal for orders from abroad. Delivery zones, pickup, pay on delivery, loyalty points, gift cards and PDF invoices where you need them.
- Custom themes and plugins
- When a ready-made plugin does not fit, we write the piece ourselves: a custom widget, a validated request form with spam protection, or a small must-use plugin that hardens WordPress for your site.
- Bilingual EN/FR sites
- Every page, product and category in English and French with WPML and WooCommerce Multilingual, with the language versions tagged for Google so each audience finds its own.
- Migrations and redesigns
- A dated or slow WordPress site rebuilt on a clean theme, or a WooCommerce catalogue moved with its old product URLs redirected, so you keep the rankings you already have.
WordPress maintenance and support
WordPress is safe when someone looks after it. Most problems come from plugins nobody updated, weak logins and missing backups. This is what we do on the WordPress and WooCommerce sites we maintain.
Tested updates
WordPress core, themes and plugins updated after testing on staging, with checkout and payments checked again on WooCommerce stores after each update.
Security hardening
Firewall rules, malware scans, login throttling, XML-RPC off, username discovery blocked and spam protection on forms, with Cloudflare in front of the site.
Encrypted backups
AES-256 encrypted backups stored in geographically separate locations, so the site can be restored after any incident.
24/7 monitoring
Uptime monitoring around the clock with instant alerts, and AI-based diagnostics that watch speed, database queries and memory use so a slowdown is caught before visitors notice.
Troubleshooting and recovery
When a site breaks after an update, slows down or is hacked, we restore it from a clean backup, find and close the cause, and harden it so it does not happen again.
Reports and a named contact
Monthly reports on updates, security and uptime, and a named technical contact who knows your site. We reply within one business day.
Plans and the full scope are on our website maintenance page.
When WordPress fits, and when custom is better
WordPress is a good fit when
- your team publishes often: news, events, job offers, monthly reports
- you want to edit pages and products yourself in a familiar admin
- your catalogue and checkout are standard and the plugins you need are well maintained
- you want a proven platform that many developers know
A custom build is better when
- the site has its own logic: bookings, portals, quotes, dashboards
- it must sync closely with a POS, ERP or CRM
- speed and a light maintenance load matter more than a plugin library
- you would otherwise stack many plugins to get one workflow
We compare both in detail, from editing to security and migration, in WordPress or a custom-built website: which one fits your business?. For the custom route, see custom web development.
From first call to a maintained site
Free discovery call
We talk through what the site must do, who will edit it and what you already have. For an existing site we start with an audit.
Fixed written quote
Scope, timeline and price in writing before any work starts, stating what is included and what is not.
Design and build on staging
Design proposals on real pages, then the theme, widgets and integrations on a staging copy you can review, tested on phones and laptops.
Launch and handover
Redirects, SEO checks and analytics at launch. The domain, hosting and logins are in your name, and ownership of the custom work passes to you on final payment.
Maintenance
If you choose a maintenance plan, we keep the site updated, backed up and monitored, and handle content changes within your plan.

Do you build custom WordPress themes or use ready-made ones?
Usually a custom theme with purpose-made Elementor widgets, so pages are easy to edit but hard to break. When a well-maintained ready-made theme suits the project, we adapt it to your brand instead. We recommend one after the discovery call and explain why in the quote.
Can you take over and maintain a WordPress site another developer built?
Yes. We start with an audit of the site: WordPress and plugin versions, security, backups, speed and who holds the logins. Then we fix what is urgent and put the site on a maintenance plan with tested updates, encrypted backups and monitoring.
Which payment methods can a WooCommerce store in Mauritius accept?
The WooCommerce stores we build can take MCB card payments, MCB Juice, MyT Money, internet banking and bank transfer, with Stripe and PayPal added when orders come from abroad. The right mix depends on who buys from you.
Can my WordPress site be in English and French?
Yes. We translate every page, product and category with WPML and WooCommerce Multilingual, so stock and prices stay shared between the two languages, and each language version is tagged for Google.
My WordPress site was hacked or stopped working. Can you help?
Yes. Write to us in the website chat or at info@artover.com with the site address and what you see. We restore the site from a clean backup where one exists, find and close the way in, update what is outdated and harden the site so it does not happen again.
Do you build Shopify stores?
No. We build online stores on WooCommerce or as a custom platform, both of which you own and can move to another host.
How much does a WordPress website cost in Mauritius?
It depends on the number of page types, whether you sell online, the payment methods and integrations, one or two languages, who produces the content and the maintenance you want after launch. We do not publish prices: you receive a fixed written quote after a free discovery call.
