A licence, tournament and news platform for a national golf federation

A national golf federation in Mauritius needed more than a brochure website: a platform where players apply for and renew their licence online, follow live tournaments and rankings, and read the federation’s news. Artover designed and built the whole thing as a custom Next.js application.

The client

The client is the national federation for golf in Mauritius. It licenses players, runs tournaments, publishes rankings, supports clubs and academies, and promotes the sport and golf tourism on the island.

It needed a single online home for members, players, clubs and visitors, and back-office tools its own team could run.

The problem

A federation’s work is mostly process: licences to issue and renew, tournaments to run, rankings to publish, news to share. Doing that by email and spreadsheets does not scale, and it gives members no self-service.

The federation wanted players to handle their own licences online, live tournament results and rankings on the public site, and a news section its team could update without a developer.

What they needed

  • Online licence applications and renewals, with confirmations and receipts by email
  • Live tournaments, leaderboards and rankings on the public site
  • A news section the federation can edit itself
  • Member accounts and login
  • A clubs and academies directory and course information
  • Content pages promoting golf and golf tourism in Mauritius
  • An admin area for the federation’s team, on maintained hosting

What we built

The site is a custom Next.js application. Players apply for or renew a licence through an online form; the request lands in an admin area where the federation reviews it, and the applicant receives a confirmation and a receipt by email.

Tournaments, leaderboards and rankings are pulled from Golf Genius, the specialist golf tournament platform, and players are kept in sync with it, so results on the public site stay current without manual re-entry.

A built-in news CMS (the Fairway Journal) lets the team write and publish articles with a rich-text editor, and the pages refresh automatically. A clubs and academies directory, course pages, referee and development sections, and content on golf and tourism complete the public site. Member accounts, contact forms with file upload, and the federation’s admin tools run on a Firebase backend, and Artover hosts and maintains it.

Challenges we solved

A federation that runs itself online

Licences, tournaments, rankings and news each became a self-service flow, so members and visitors get what they need without emailing the office, and the team manages it all from one admin area.

Live results without double entry

Tournaments and rankings come straight from Golf Genius and players are kept in sync, so the public site is always current and nobody re-types results.

Content the team owns

The news section and key content are editable in-house with a rich-text editor, so the federation publishes updates the moment they happen.

The result

The federation has one online home: players apply for and renew licences online, follow live tournaments and rankings, and read federation news, while the team runs licences, clubs and content from a single admin area that Artover hosts and maintains.
